After five years, two solo albums, and two babies, Gwen Stefani is finally ready to get back on the road with her No Doubt band-mates.
The band began working on their follow-up to 2001's Rock Steady earlier this year while Stefani was still pregnant with her second child. In a faux instant message conversation posted on the band's website, the group confirmed plans to tour in 2009 and to continue writing the new record on the road.
"
I think we should go out now, I don't think we should wait,"
Gwen writes in the chat. "
Pack up the babies and get a bunch of nannies. So fun! Would be so inspiring to get out there and play all those songs again. I think that if we go on tour it will inspire us to write. I need to see the fans out there."
"We can keep writing and recording out there," writes guitarist Tom Dumont. Bassist Tony Kanal replies, "Yeah, totally. I think playing some shows will make the studio time even better. Playing shows, writing songs, kicking ass, ND 2009."
If that's not exciting enough, the band is already confirmed to be headlining day two of The Bamboozle Festival on May 3, 2009 with Fall Out Boy headlining the first night. Two-day and VIP passes are on sale now only on the Bamboozle Festival website and on the Live Nation website. Single day tickets go on sale Friday, November 28 at 10 A.M. and will be available on those sites as well as Ticketmaster or by phone at 866.448.7849.
No word yet on any tour dates other than The Bamboozle Festival.
