'Oasis Will Reform', Says Former Creation Label Boss

Former Creation label boss Alan McGee has said Oasis will reform in "four or five years".

McGee, who founded Creation Records and signed Oasis, said that the Gallagher brothers will reform despite the huge rift that caused the band's split last year.

Speaking to BBC 6 Music McGee said: "Yeah, in about three or four or five years time, they wil. I'm pretty sure."

The band split after lead songwriter Noel Gallagher left the band claiming he could no longer work with brother Liam, but the record boss still believes that the pair can work it out.

He said: "I mean, they’re brothers. Its like, I’ve fallen out with my sister before and we’re best mates now. Why are brothers gonna be any different?"

However, the reunion seems increasingly less likely as Liam has been recording material with band Beady Eye, featuring former Oasis members Gem Archer and Andy Bell.

Beady Eye's new single "Bring The Light", will be released as a free download on their official site from tomorrow (November 10).

Was your sister Liam Gallagher? Have you constantly abuse drugs for long periods of time with your sister? If not you really have no Idea what goes thru their heads. How anyone can manage/sign them without noticing the massive ego, superiority complex between the two, or the dynamics that contestant stress and drug exposure that the siblings experienced in the 90's: is beyond me...

Still don't understand this. Other than the odd intentional nod, the majority of Oasis' songs sound nothing like the Beatles. It's just and easy criticism to throw at the band IMO.

They sound more like Status Quo than The Beatles. I'm not a huge fan, I thought the first two albums were good and they've made the odd good song since, but I'd really like to see what Noel could do as a solo artist. I've got a feeling he's got a good couple of acoustic albums in him.

The music that Noel writes has more in common with the structure (chord choices, progressions and generally the rhythm) of Nirvana rather than the Beatles (of whom I am no fan).
Oasis seemed to fit for the time and place and it would seem likely that a reunion will occur down the line. The lure of £££ will be too great in the end. Brothers in bands often fall out (irrespective of addictions and inner-politics), just look at the Everly’s and the Davies’s for a virtual blueprint.

meh Noel uses lots of minor 4th chords and augmented and diminished ones, in a way that's kinda beatleesque (or really, lennon-esque). Occasional Indian Influences in a Beatle-fied way. nothing huge tho except for Liam's whine-ish voice is very much Lennon circa "Rain".so they're more John influenced Id say that they have a lot more direct steals from the Kinks (Importance of Being Idle, Shes electric).

thing is, they lack the arrangement skills and true pop sensibility (and genius) of those influences.

Beady Eyes are working on the new album, and so does Noel... I'm more interested in those two project right now, rather see yet another reunion.

there's so many bands that, I LIKE their stuff, but I think they should stop there.

Avenged Sevenfold, huge fan, but they are done.

Oasis were brilliant at their peak and noone could touch them. creatively, of course they never rivalled the beatles but they were the next best thing in a post-beatles world - and their popularity nearly rivalled the fab four as well.

However it makes no sense to reform, oasis had been an oasis cover/parody band for the last 10 yrs of their career anyway, they may as well let the legacy of their great mid-90s songs to grow.
