Pantera Members Reunited At Gasoline Gig

Former Pantera bassist Rex Brown performed with ex-Pantera/Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul for the first time since 2001 at December 31 Gasoline gig at Hot Rods and Hoggs in Arlington, Texas. Rex joined Vinnie and the rest of the reactivated southern rock covers band for renditions of the Pantera classics "Walk" and "Cowboys from Hell". Check out pictures at Damegeplan.net. More photos can be found at RideForDime.com.

Gasoline's lineup had previously included late Pantera/Damageplan guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott and Pumpjack vocalist Thurber T. Mingus. Gasoline were expected to play a set of covers by such artists as Ted Nugent, Thin Lizzy and Pat Travers. Also appearing on the bill were local cover band Strange Brew.

In related news, Vinnie Paul is currently looking for "different and out-there talent" for his new record label, Big Vin Records. Bands can send submissions to:

metOLlca is right, it just isn't the same without dimebag. The Nickelback song Side of a Bullet is a very very good tribute to him and even has an unreleased dimebag solo in it that Kroger learned just for that song. R.I.P Mr. Darell you are missed.

Wow! It sure been a long time since Rex Brown and Vinnie Paul corroborated. And for Dime, R.I.P., we miss you very much!

Good to see those guys haven't given up on music. Pantera and Damageplan were awesome, and Dimebag is, and always will be, sorely missed.

I really don't think that's Rex Brown. Even with wierd short hair, I don't see it. Unless he aged like 25 years in 5.
