Pink Floyd To Play Live 8

Organizers of the London Live 8 concert said Sunday that the British rock band Pink Floyd would perform with its classic lineup at the July event for the first time in more than two decades according to MSN News. Guitarist David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason, bass player Roger Waters and keyboard player Richard Wright have not performed on stage together since 1981. Waters, the group's founder, split with the rest of the band after a falling-out in the 1980s.

The group will join musical acts including Coldplay, Paul McCartney, and Elton John at the anti-poverty concert in Hyde Park on July 2. "Like most people I want to do everything I can to persuade the G-8 leaders to make huge commitments to the relief of poverty and increased aid to the third world," Gilmour said. "It's crazy that America gives such a paltry percentage of its GNP to the starving nations."

Green Day have reportadly joined the bill for the Live 8 gigs on July 8. They will be playing the Berlin leg of the concert.

It's very possible that Waters can put his grudge against the others aside for good... and we all know how damn cool that would be.

OMG!!! A Floyd Reunion? I have been a Floyd fan since my Dad played Another Brick In The Wall Pt.2 at the end of every school year since kindergarten. I have seen the Aussie Pink Floyd in concert, but to see the real Pink Floyd back together and in concert would be a dream come true.
