Plant Once Again Rules Out Led Zep Reunion

According to Telegraph, Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant has ruled out the band getting back together for a concert tour. Plant, 60, said he has moved on to other things and was getting too old for two-hour rock shows in giant arenas across the world.

Plant was on stage yesterday being interviewed on BBC Radio Wales by actress Ruth Jones who plays Nessa in TV's "Gavin And Stacey".

Plant is expected to enter the studio in January with American bluegrass singer Alison Krauss to begin work on the follow-up to their award-winning "Raising Sand" LP.

He said: "I'm doing very well with Alison and I'm enjoying that.

"I still see Jimmy [Page, guitar] quite a lot and he's very complimentary and supportive of what I'm doing.

"But we are in different places now and you have to go on to do different things."

When Ruth asked him about a Zeppelin reunion, Plant said: "Do you know how long it took me to climb up onto the stage here — and it's only four steps!"

As much as I'd like to see a reunion by Zeppelin, I only want to see it if they are all committed and feeling good about it, otherwise it would just suck. I totally see why a guy Plant's age wouldn't be up to a tour. Jimmy can always record new riffs and solos though!

When you see guys the same age as Plant bashing out songs in genres far more physcially grueling than that of Led Zeppelin, I'm quite frankly getting a little more than tired of Plant's whining about how old he is.

You proved you could do it at the O2 shows and said because of that you would be more than willing to do a Zep reunion, but suddenly this Alison Krause thing, no matter how good it really is, is reason enough to cancel out altogether.

I do like Coverdale's idea of doing a "Zep" album with a series of different singers. Hell, there have been enough of "Encomium" type albums out there, this would be the "real deal" so to speak.

But as was the case with the Beatles, we'll never again get to see the mighty, mighty Zep reign supreme on the stages of stadiums around the country.

I'm just sayin'...
