Wal-Mart and Walmart.com is currently selling a special version of Poison's brand new album of cover songs, "Poison'd!", featuring an exclusive bonus track a cover of "Sexy Back", originally performed by Justin Timberlake. An audio sample of Poison's version of "Sexy Back".

"Poison'd!" was released today (June 5) via EMI America Records/Capitol. The CD presents the band's first new studio recordings since 2002's "Hollyweird". Produced by Don Was at Hensen Recording Studios in Hollywood, "Poison'd" packs 13 explosive tracks, including new recordings of David Bowie's "Suffragette City", The Cars' "You're Just What I Needed", The Romantics' "What I Like About You", SWEET's "Little Willy", The Marshall Tucker Band's "Can't You See" and The Rolling Stones' "Dead Flowers". Some of Poison's best previously recorded covers are also featured on "Poison'd", including Kiss' "Rock and Roll All Nite", Grand Funk Railroad's "We're An American Band" and Loggins And Messina's "Your Mama Don't Dance".

On June 7, Poison will perform "What I Like About You" from "Poison'd!" on CBS' "Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson". Bret Michaels will also be interviewed by Ferguson about Poison's new album and tour and his new VH1 reality series, "Rock Of Love With Bret Michaels", premiering July 15.

Poison will hit more than 50 U.S. cities this summer on their "Poison'd!" nationwide co-headlining tour with Ratt.

The bodom one was hilarious. This is just depressingly unfunny. It wasnt bad. But its justin timberlake! anyone even closely related to rock or metal shouldn't go anywhere near it

IlikeMetal wrote on 06/06/2007 - 12:26 pm / quote |
Aww man, but seriously who else would you expect to cover that song. These guys are still incredible and CC is a complete maniac, and I can't wait to see them with Ratt.

I despise everything and anything about Poison after they ruined the 80's! Im deeply disgusted to see them releasing a new album, and may you go kill yourself if u actually buy it! Screw you Bret Michaels!

what a load of bollocks that sample is.

Brandon860 wrote on 06/06/2007 - 01:14 pm / quote |
Well, I just listened to some samples of the other songs and I have to say it's nothing overly impressive but rather average. For the most part the songs all sound too close to the orignals (except for Can't You See, who's majesty they butchered). I don't completely hate Poison, but I wouldn't buy or really recommend this album.

kaze_no_oto wrote on 06/06/2007 - 03:24 pm / quote |
Poison isn't relavant any more. That's what happens. The 80s are gone, people should go gracefully instead of grasping for any stupid publicity stunt they can get their hands on - I saw someone mention Brett Michaels' new reality show - how lame. I wish people like this would move on already.

fireoptic wrote on 06/06/2007 - 03:28 pm / quote |
They're just covering songs that will make them money. Whether the fans take them serious, or take it as they have a sense of humor, this is only for business.

Fuck Poison!

Yeah I agree. I actually like Poison for what they were, a cheesy 80s' rock band that liked to party and have fun. but Justin TImberlake? Thats just low. Next to Fallout Boy, Justin TImberlake is the lowest form of music. I can't even talk about this, it's too depressing.

Loads of people have covered JT songs though...it's not really a big deal, and say what you want about him, he is a good singer! And covers by other bands just make the music better...so I don't see why anyone would complain

That was an awesome COB song. They took a horrible pop song and made it cool

sounds like the track was "poisoned" with bulls**t, did they really become this pathetic to get some xtra dough. "Let's make an entire album of cover songs and choose the worst ones to cover." great idea guys, wats next, some backstreet boy song?

You can tour on cover songs alone? News to me.

PowerChordAway! wrote on 06/06/2007 - 08:51 pm / quote |
If you cant tell what he's singing, then it actually doesnt sound too bad. But as soon as you catch the lyrics, it degrades it quite a bit

scarfacesuit wrote on 06/06/2007 - 09:07 pm / quote |
well, poison is sort of a poppy "metal" band, so i could see them covering some pop stuff, but sexyback is more dance/pop/hip-hop... interested to hear it, but i doubt i'll like it much.

I know most people on here are kids that probably never had a job but I have a question - what's wrong with doing something to make money? Would you work for free? I sure wouldn't. Even if they made a CD "just to make money", what's wrong with that? You think any band works for free?

You's are all ****ed, going on about how JT may have talent. The wanker uses a machine to manufacture his music. Poison are an ace band who actually use talent with real musical instruments to write kick ass songs, and if they wanna cover a shit song by a shit artist, so be it. They can get away with it. It's the shit hip hop artists like JT who try covering classics and completely ****ing them up, eg. Angels by Robbie Williams being covered by Jessica Simpson. Ridiculous.

ChileBarbs wrote on 07/21/2009 - 09:58 am / quote |

Bret's older daughter, Raine, was crazy about this song (JT's) so they decided to cover it. Don't read too much into it, it was just for fun and they decided to include it in the Poison'd...big deal.
Get over it! There's space for everyone in this world...
