Queen Won 'Best Song Ever' Poll

Queen have come top in a worldwide poll to find the greatest song ever written, reports NME.com. A new poll has been conducted in 66 different countries and translated into 20 languages, and the individual results were aggregated to discover the global list of favourites.

Queen beat Britney Spears' "Toxic" to second place in the global poll, but in the UK version, Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" was the top of a list includes no fewer than six other tracks by Jackson.

The global top ten songs were:

02. "Toxic" - Britney Spears
03. "Billie Jean" - Michael Jackson
04. "Hotel California" - The Eagles
05. "La Tortura" - Shakira

Its all a matter of peoples taste anyway. People like different music thats the way life is. Nowdays pop is Britney Spears, 50 Cent etc... in the old days pop was Zepellin etc.. The only difference is that the artists weren't just singers who sang songs some record person tells them to sing. I personally think artists who play and write their own songs are more 'musically intelligent' hence I choose to listen to them because I respect them more for their artistry. It doesn't really matter though, as long as people are free to listen to music they want to listen to then all's cool. MTV and NME can keep their 2pacs and Britney's but I won't tell people who like them not to listen to them. There's even a few pop songs which I think are genuinly good music e.g. Daniel Beddingfield - Your not the one but just become popular.
