Radiohead Deny Starbucks Deal

artist: radiohead date: 03/30/2007 category: general music news
rating: 0 / votes: 0

Radiohead have denied claims they are about to sign a record deal with Starbucks.

Thom Yorke and company are midway through recording the follow-up to 2004's Hail To The Thief, their first new album since leaving Parlophone/Capitol.

Reports emerged yesterday that they were about to follow Sir Paul McCartney in agreeing to release their music through the coffee giant's fledgling label.

However, these reports have been dismissed as "completely untrue" by a spokesman for Courtyard Management, on behalf of Radiohead.

In a statement, Courtyard commented: "Radiohead are currently in the studio working on their next record. They are not negotiating a new record deal with anyone, and will not even consider how to release their new music until the album is finished. The rumor that they are about to sign with Starbucks is totally untrue."

Thansk for the info to Blabbermouth.net.

wtf, starbucks has a record label? Who the **** would sign to a label like, what the heck is wrong with Paul Mccartney? I wonder how much free coffee you get if you sign for them, probably a free life pass to as much starbucks coffee as you want, that would be ok but i'd rather be paid in cash then in coffee.

If the bands on the Starbucks are as good as their coffee, we're screwed

I hope their album is at least 40% on the lines of the Bends on the sound.
Whatever they decide I bet will be good though.

Lmfao, this was a joke posted on a website parodying Radiohead's blog, deadairspice.blogspot.com. Some idiot journalist thought it was true and it has grown from there. Starbucks pretty much stands for everything Yorke despises, though interestingly Paul McCartney is the first person signed to Starbucks (free coffee?).

PS: Radiohead are currently mixing the album! I say it should be out around august....
