Rage Against The Machine Reunited At Coachella

Rage Against The Machine's first show in almost seven years brought Coachella to a stunning close Sunday night (April 29), according to NME.com report.

Under a simple red star backdrop, the staunchly political quartet treated the biggest crowd of the weekend to an explosive set that spanned the whole of the band's career.

Communication with the audience was was kept to a bare minimum, with Zach de la Rocha kick-starting the comeback with a simple introduction: "Good evening, we're Rage Against The Machine from Los Angeles, California."

The anticipated anti-Bush tirade finally came during the last song of the main set, "Wake Up". "Our current administration needs to be tried, hung and shot," the singer boldly stated, according to MTV.com. "We need to treat them like the war criminals they are."

I like Rage as much as the next person does, but I often get annoyed at how Zach puts himself across. Some of the lyrics and things he says about the government seem almost juvenial. Something like "Our current administration needs to be tried, hung and shot". I feel like he's stuck in his teen-rebellion state. Not flaming the guy-just something I've picked up on. Great band none the less.

They just need to drag themselves across the channel now.

I was there. Awesome.... I know it's the cliche thing to say, but I've never been to a show where the crowd was so intense. Though there is a little mistake with that setlist. They did play Know Your Enemy, this is for sure, I remember because as soon as they came to the breakdown I immediately started to look all over the stage in search of a possible appearance by Maynard lol. Ofcourse he didn't show up to do his part but for those of you who are wondering, YES they did play it.

In an interview on "Drum Media", Tom Morello indirectly talked about touring Australia. He said "We'll see you down there soon", towards the end of the interview. So the signs are pretty good so far

Have they ever played Wake Up live before? the dvds ive seen (and assorted live clips from festivals etc.) it seems like they prefer to save Zach's voice for Freedom. I guess he's not really saving it for anything anymore.

I think I'd prefer it if they didn't write any new material, I'd rather just remember them they way I think of them now. That said, if they come to Australia, I am so there.
