Red Hot Chili Peppers Offer Live Show Downloads

The Red Hot Chili Peppers are now offering downloads of their live shows.

On Tuesday, the band announced that full concerts are available to download, starting with the November 7, 2011 gig at London's 02 Arena.

"We know you can't travel to every show, so we are bringing the shows to you," posted the band.

Shows on the "I'm With You" tour are available in various formats, including mp3, FLAC and iTunes-friendly Apple Lossless formats.

Each show is professionally recorded and mixed, and will be available within a few days after the gig ends.

There are currently eight (8) shows on the band’s site, with prices at $9.95 (mp3), $12.95 (FLAC of ALAC).

Metallica have been doing this since 2003!! Pearl Jam have been releasing live bootlegs on cd since before then! Surprised more bands don't do it!!

Okay, I have a quick (possibly stupid) question.
I've always wondered. Some bands sell these recordings of their shows after the show. How do they have hundreds+ copies all done and ready to go to be sold as soon as the band walks off the stage? I mean they record while they are playing obviously, but how do they have so many copied and ready so quick?? Do they use a super state of the art copier that makes multiple copies at once? Or maybe they are selling the previous show or something and passing them off as that nights show? Just curious..

Errrmmm, I believe these are digital copies mate.

I got a recording like that on a flash pen, when i went to see billy talent... the last 4 or 5 songs werent on it, it had a code for you to download them onto it when you got home
