Roadrunner Records has been going strong for nearly 30 years, and to give back to those fans who’ve supported them for so long, they wanted to feature some of the best fan-made tabs on Ultimate-Guitar.com. Every two weeks, we’re going to feature a new tab of a Roadrunner artist on Ultimate-Guitar, and we want to hear your take on the songs.

Check out the tab, learn the track, and record a video of yourself playing it on YouTube to enter to win copies of all of the albums that are going to be featured.

This week’s track is "Reckoning" by Killswitch Engage, which comes off their new self-titled album that hit stores last week in a regular and special edition format.

Killswitch Engage burst onto the scene with their self-titled debut in 2000 before signing with Roadrunner Records and releasing their major label follow-up in 2002. The band is about to embark on a lengthy tour of North America in support of their second self-titled album released late last month. The tour kicks off in Sacramento, CA in July 10 and concludes in Vancouver, BC on September 17. You can check out the full list of dates and ticket information here.

Along with Killswitch Engage, Roadrunner Records is home to such bands as Dream Theater, Slipknot, Trivium, and Megadeth among others. The label has garnered a dedicated following all across the globe from people who are just as passionate about hard rock and heavy metal as Roadrunner Records is.

Well that can actually be a pretty good marketing trick. I personally won't play cause I hate that kind of music but I can see it working for the record company and band.

Cool. I was just reading the article and the fact that they were celebrating their 30th anniversary seemed a little weird to me because I've been only hearing from them for a few years.

Turns out they started off in my country: the Netherlands, which is great because now us Dutchies can claim one of the coolest record labels of this modern age. Nice!

How about KSE just comes out with Tab books of their album. Same with Trivium , I like to own the tab books. Every tab book I own I have learned all the songs exactly and it's a lot of fun when you know you are playing the song right with the album. Thats my opinion anyways.

Killswitch is awesome I couldn't hear for like 3 days after seeing them. The band that came on after them, I was ready to swear that their gear was messed up. I kept hearing a ringing. Turns out after I left I still heard the ringing so it wasn't their gear afterall.

Here's a dumb ?...what if the tab is incorrect? I think KSE should release a tab for this song, at least just the rhythm or lead part. It would be a greater challenge to learn it by ear, but that could be kinda cool.

Id love to give it a go but I dont have a camera, decent audio recording software, a working distortion pedal, or a decent amp worth using without afore-mentioned pedal =[. my musical life sucks right now. But I'll still learn all the songs I like, just to participate in my own little way o.o

I guess this is a good idea... but I mean, if the techniques used in the song were at the level of say, Just Barely Breathing, it would be a fun little thing to try, but looking at the tab and seeing as I might have seen harder Fall Out Boy songs on this site, I guess I'll just leave this one to the kids..

Killswitch, Dream Theater, Trivium, Opeth, Megadeth, Lamb of God, Down. Some of my favourites and the best signed to roadrunner. Good luck with a Dream Theater tab and the 'shred for the sake of shred' that is dragonforce.

If you're going to make an attempt at sounding smart, make sure your ass is covered. They've used 7-string guitars on a couple of tracks, Down from the Sky being one of them.

Umm, tab books aren't necessarily anymore accurate than some of the tabs in here made by random people. There also done by people. If the tab books would be checked by the band guitarists it could be a different thing...

Exactly, some tab books suck big time. Actually I find it quite rare to have a tab book gone right. Pantera's Great Southern Trendkill is done really well, and Steve Vai's DLR-era book (then again, Vai did the transcriptions, and some other guy did the tabs (which sometimes are wrong)). To me this is nothing but a stupid marketing trick.
