Rob Zombie Turns Down A7X Video

Rob Zombie recently shot down Avenged Sevenfold's hopes of landing him as the director for their new video "Buried Alive". Zombie was too busy with pre-production on his new witchcraft film, "Lords Of Salem", which just announced some of the cast.

When it came time to shoot the video for Avenged Sevenfold's next single, "Buried Alive", they tried to score a director who was more than just a a music video guy. Singer M. Shadows recently told Pulse Of Radio:

"We do want to do something super-special with 'Buried Alive'. We're looking for a good, like, video director - not necessarily a video guy but more of a movie guy. We talked to Rob Zombie, unfortunately he¡¯s doing his new movie right now or he'd want to do it. But we want to do something cool with it, something underground, exciting and kind of crazy... We feel it's probably the strongest track on the record."

The movie M. Shadows eluded to is the upcoming horror film "Lords Of Salem". This will be Zombie's first original live-action feature since his directorial debut - 2003's "House Of 1000 Corpses". "Lords Of Salem" is currently in pre-production and some of the cast has been named. The leader of the witch coven will be played by Meg Foster - who you may know from cult-favorites like John Carpenter's "They Live" and "Masters Of The Universe" (yes, the He-Man film). You know it wouldn't be a Zombie flick without his wife Sheri Moon Zombie, IMDB reports she will appear as the character "Whitey".

Speaking to Empire earlier this year, Zombie outlined what fans can expect from "Lords Of Salem":

"There were twenty people that everyone knows about - obviously all innocent - executed as witches in Salem. The basic premise of the film is that there were a further four who actually were witches, who were killed secretly, and vowed one day to return to wreak havoc on Salem's descendants. That's when the movie jumps ahead to the present day and things start to go wrong... Lords of Salem is probably the bleakest of all my films."

"Lords Of Salem" is expected to hit theaters in 2012.

So I guess The Devil's Rejects isn't an original? Do some research people.

^ Exactly. I mean more people I know have seen Devil's Rejects as well, it's not some unknown movie. Not a good movie imo, but it's still really well know.

Buried Alive is definitely not the strongest track on the album. Save Me is far more powerful. At least they're trying to make a cool video for it, though.

Buried Alive is possibly the strongest track they have ever done, between it, Afterlife and Gunslinger I am not sure which wins.

I'd easily go Buried Alive over Afterlife, and especially Gunslinger.

I think M.I.A. should be considered in this race as well. Very underrated.

Well, The Devil's Rejects is actually a sequel to House of 1000 corpses. So no, it's not an original film, not technically speaking anyway.

I agree that Buried Alive is the strongest track on the album. It's become one of my favorites from them.

And I guess, by original, they mean not a remake or a sequel, even though The Devil's Rejects was a pretty original movie from Rob Zombie.

Holy crap, a video for "Buried Alive"! It better not suck, like the "Nightmare" video. But the "So Far Away" and "Seize the Day" videos were good, so I have high hopes.

It was a sequel, not really an original property. If you look at it that way though, Halloween 2 could be considered and "original property" since it wasn't a remake of the original sequel whatsoever.
