While several of Hollywood’s A-listers have made names for themselves on the music circuit, Robert Pattinson isn’t convinced that he could be one of them.
Currently in Paris promoting "Breaking Dawn" with co-star Ashley Greene, Pattinson fielded more questions regarding any potential musical ventures. Though he loves to perform, Pattinson has postponed any plans to follow in the footsteps of Jeff Bridges, Hugh Laurie, Steve Martin and countless others.
"I’m always playing and recording but I don’t know. People hate when actors become musicians so I’ve been avoiding it for the longest possible [time]," he told reporters, according to E! Online.
The actor slammed rumors in September that he was planning to release a solo album, though he previously contributed to both the original Twilight and How to Be soundtracks. Listen to Pattinson perform "I Was Broken" below. Should he join the ranks of actors-turned-musicians, or stick to the big screen? Please, answer in comment section below.
Breaking news! this is the Dawn of a new era, where actors become musicians. Is that not what we, as a society, should consider to be multi-talented, and not The signs of selling out or wanting extra fame? the Best case scenario is that he sticks to music and never makes another Movie Ever again.
if you want this article to piss you off even more, read all of the words that start with a capital letter (of course it's me being facetious as usual).
It's just another place where he can piss the entire straight male population off whilst making girls squeel.
He may aswell, one...maybe 2 bad albums and he would stop anyway like most do. Can't imagine his 'acting' lasting longer than the Twilight films anyway.
He's actually not as terrible an actor as some of you think. He's not wonderful, but he's better than Twilight has made him out to be. No acting skills can atone for that lousy script. And since he himself hates the whole franchise, he obviously isn't going to want to excel in his role.
He isn't a bad musician either. His voice is nice, he seems to have good taste, and he might be able to make a decent record. He has potential.
No, we hate it when people use there acting career for their music career.
I don't think their was a single thing about 30 Seconds To Mars having an actor front man, in fact, they refused to use that to advertise themselves. They got signed because they were legitimately good (shut up, the guy can sing).
i think he should release an album. his voice is pretty awesome, and he's a pretty good guitarist... Has anyone HEARD "Never Think"?! he was a musician long before he was an actor. His music is actually quite superb...he's the perfect mix of Van Morrison and Jeff Buckley.
Also, he could start fresh in the music buisness through an alias in a underground label and let the music speak for himself but i guess the ego of this guy is far to great to let an album not have his name all over it.

I can't stand Twilight, but I've seen most of the movies he's acted in. He's not bad and if he keeps it up, he's going to use the Twilight hype to have a decent post-Twilight career. I hope that everyone else falls into a post-Twilight career path that would give Mark Hamill something to feel better about by comparison.
