Slash And Sebastian Bach Team Up For Top-Secret Project

Sebastian Bach says Velvet Revolver guitarist Slash has contacted him "out of the blue" for a top-secret job, but not as the replacement for the group's fired frontman Scott Weiland.

The former Skid Row singer said that stepping in for Weiland would be "awkward" given his friendship with Slash's former Guns N' Roses bandmate Axl Rose.

Slash quit Guns N' Roses in 1996, frustrated with Rose's imperious manner, and they have been estranged ever since. Bach and Rose, however, are on good terms: Bach sings on the as-yet-unreleased Guns album "Chinese Democracy," while Rose sang on three tracks on Bach's 2007 solo album, "Angel Down," and gave him the opening slot on two Guns N' Roses tours.

Bach said the Slash project was "mind-blowing," but that he had been sworn to secrecy and nothing was happening right now.

Weiland was thrown out of Velvet Revolver in April, with the band citing his "increasingly erratic on-stage behavior and personal problems." Weiland responded by saying that Bach would be a "fantastic" substitute.

Lots of people say Slash is overrated, but they seem to forget that Appetite for Destruction is one of the best albums ever made. Nobody before or since has managed to match the breakdown section of Sweet Child or the riff and interlude madness of Mr. Brownstone.

Sebastian Bach is way more talented and has way more class than Scott Weiland, so with that being said, if it's an album that these two are doing together then it's gonna be one of the best albums released in a very long time. It'd definately be better than anything VR did in my opinion, but then again, I'm a huge Bach, and Bach-era Skid Row fan as well.

Another thing that is interesting to think about is whether Bach could be used as a medium between Axl and Slash. It's documented that he's good friends with both of them so maybe there's a chance that a Guns reunion could come about through that.... At least I can hope...
