Slash has been honored with his own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame by the Hard Rock Cafe on Hollywood Blvd.
His place on the legendary sidewalk was handed to him by actor Charlie Sheen, who has known the guitarist since the 1980s.
"It's quite fitting that Slash is getting a star on the very street Axl Rose will one day be sleeping on," quipped Sheen. "This star is going to be stepped on more than the coke we did in the Eighties."
Other guest speakers at the ceremony included his friend
Robert Evans, the film producer, and radio host
Jim Ladd, according to
Grateful Web.
Slash and his bandmate Myles Kennedy treated guests to an exclusive acoustic performance inside the Hard Rock Cafe, followed by a Q&A session.
In addition to the Walk of Fame honor, Slash was then named by Time magazine as the No. 2 guitarist of all time, one place behind Jimi Hendrix.
Slash's latest solo album "Apocalyptic Love" was released in May. His band continue to tour the west coast, and will start a new run of dates starting in San Diego on September 4.
