It would have been cool for a bit to maybe get back to some of their rockin' stuff like "Rocks" and stuff like that. It was all drug fueled But, it is tough to beat if it gets out of hand so, he prolly did the right thing

I'm glad it was just pain pills that he HAD to be on in the first place. I was really afraid he'd started you alcohol or hardcore stuff again.

While Rocks is the coolest album EVER, they did a lot of shit stuff while on drugs. I'm glad they're off, and I'm looking forward to their next album like crazy.

Well thank god, now aerosmith can go back to playing their self indulgent, masagonistic rock that is just so admirable.

still better than another article about Scott Weiland/Velvet Revolver/Guns N' Roses, which is all bullshit rumors and complete speculation without any actual relevant information to do with music.

Do you mean "misogynistic..." You should probably learn how to spell and articulate your thoughts a little more clearly if you want anyone to take you seriously. Aerosmith is a great band, and incredibly important in Rock N' Roll music as a genre.

Glad to hear that Tyler made this decision. He is an incredibly respectable man. I wish every other rock star had his head.

Actually, i disagree. It is the point that is the important part, not the spelling. Ok, i spelt a word incorrectly, i will try not to make such a mistake again. However, i think my thoughts were articulated perfectly clearly, if you couldn't interperet my thoughts from that perhaps you need more help then me.

As for respectable, i also disagree. Narcissism is not a prerequisite for respect, at least not to me. However, you have your opinion, i have mine. I just hope you can understand mine now, minor spelling errors aside.

Perhaps you know something I don't. I have simply never heard anything from Steven Tyler, or the rest of Aersomith, that would make me think that they are narcissistic in the least. Certainly nothing in this article gives me that impression. And I don't know where you're coming from with the misogynistic thing, either. Like I said, its possible you know something I don't. I have just not seen that side of Aerosmith, and I enjoy what they do, musically.

JudasTheGuide :
If you take the word metaphorically, isn't narcissism just a fancy way for describing having a rub on your own?

Getting to the point: I agree with Tin_man. Nobody wants to ally themselves with someone who is unable to construct a proper sentence. I think that without Aerosmiths' sleazy blues hooks the face of rock wouldn't look like it does today. After all, they were a huge inspiration for bands like Guns N Roses. I can't just rattle off a list of influence but I'm sure it would be long and hold some important names.

Also, I'm very upset with Amy Winehouse for ruining the word "rehab..."

Because now, when I see that word, all I can think of is that stupid song... Ugh.

i completely agree with you man, ive been addicted to a few things, only been in rehab once, but yeah, if theres anyone who thinks that a rockstar checking into rehab is some kind of publicity stunt (and no im not talking about lindsay lohan kinda bullshit) it definately isn't, getting through an addiction is the HARDEST thing anyone can possibly do, even if it is with the help of rehab, instead of going cold turkey which is what i did for two of my addictions, so to any ignorant douche who thinks that this is for attention, **** you. and to anyone who has an addiction, good luck to you, and to anyone who's gotten past an addiction (which by the way never truly ends because there are always times when you want it or think you need it) congrats.

you need to spend more time trying to seem smarter than you are. its not just spelling errors, its like you just discovered a thesaurus.

he's mature about it, why can't everyone else be?

it's decent of him to recognize a problem and get it taken care of. plenty of people get into this type of shit after their surgeries, and they are too thick minded to realize that they have a dependency. "oh no, the doctor gave me these pills, there's no problem taking as many as i want" sssss.....yeah.....

How exactly am i teaching ignorance to millions?? I'f flattered you think that many people listen to me. I'm also just voicing (or typing) an opinion, an opinion that states i dislike aerosmith because of what i think, from how i have interpreted their music, the music is about. Well done on the rehab thing, i imagine that would take a lot of courage admitting you have a problem etc. I wouldn't know, i've never been addicted to drugs.

Sorry, i will stop using 'big' words. Its not about discovering a thesaurus, its just having a decent vocabulary. Clearly though, UG comments are generally more respected when you include lots of swear words (not necessarily by you, just an observation from looking at other forums).

The fact that youre still carrying on a pointless arguement just shows how "smart" youre trying to make yourself look. Although i just pulled myself into the arguement, thats all i had to say anyway. If you want to look smart, grow up first.

But anyway, I love how Steven Tyler actually had to explain the reason why he was in rehab anyway. Issues like this need to be left alone. Im sure the way TMZ would have reviewed this would have made him look horrible. Im glad to see the fact the people can understand what he's going through and how hard it is to break an addiction. After seeing the effects of addictions like that, im sure as hell not going to start one. So anyway, congrats to you.
