Ex-Libertines frontman, Pete Doherty, graced the stage at the Hackney Empire for a second time on April 12. After rolling out some Babyshambles songs, he joked with fans "You've been waiting for this moment. Ladies and gentlemen Mr Carlos Bârat...only joking! What do you expect for 25 quid?".
This seemed to quench the rumours that had been circulating of a possible reunion, but in the end added to the surprise and atmosphere when Carl Bârat actually joined Pete on-stage.
The pair played through 13 songs, mainly
Libertines classics, but also a cover of '
Dream A Little Dream Of Me'. The full set list was:
What A Waster
Death On the Stairs
The Good Old days
What Katie Did
Dilly Boys
Seven Deadly Sins
France
Tell the King
Don’t Look back Into The Sun
Dream A Little Dream Of Me
Time For Heroes
Albion
The Delaney
Despite the speculation that is now becoming rife, of reunions, reformings and new albums, this idea was suppressed by Tony Linkin, Bârat's spokesman, who said, “They just got together for the night. There are no plans for anything more than that. Babyshambles are doing their own thing and Dirty Pretty Things are doing what they are doing.”
