The Raconteurs Are Forced To Change Their Name

The Raconteurs have been forced to change their name in Australia after another band stepped forward claiming they'd already nabbed the Jack White's new band name, reports DiS.

Thus, they will adopt the name 'The Saboteurs' down under, so as to avoid any confusion. A statement reads: "The Raconteurs name was already taken by a jazz band, to make things easier, and in the spirit of espionage and subversion, we have decided to become The Saboteurs in Australia only."

The Raconteurs release their debut album "Broken Boy Soldier" on May 15.

I thought of the three musketeers after seeing the name... If I were that ridiculously obscure Aussie jazz lot I would tour the uk as the raconteurs, make a fortune. They might become the most bottled off band in the world ever though, and those double basses are hard 2 run with!

Jack White is a guitar genius, he's a genius anyway. He's an actual ARTIST unlike most other guitar players who go by the book. The Raconteurs rock, and the name is creative. I can't wait for the cd.
