The Verve’s first album in over 10 years makes an incredible debut on the UK Album Charts.
With their first album in over 10 years, alternative-rock act The Verve made an impressive debut this week on the UK Album Charts with their latest album , “Forth“, reaching the number one spot.
Backed by the success of their single “Love Is Noise“, “Forth” is the first album by The Verve since 1997’s critically-acclaimed “Urban Hymns“, which spawned the mega-hit “Bittersweet Symphony“. Along with being the band’s first record in over a decade, it is also their first record since reuniting in 2007 from an eight year break-up.
Also debuting on the charts this week were metal band
Slipknot, who secured the number two spot with their album “
All Hope Is Gone”. The Verve’s debut this week also knocked Irish pop band The Script down from first place to third. Coldplay’s “
Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends” also dropped 4 spots this week and is now at number eight.
