Tony Iommi Thanks Black Sabbath Fans

After Black Sabbath’s rousing reunion in their hometown of Birmingham, England, guitarist Tony Iommi has admitted to nerves.

He says on the band’s official website:

"I was extremely nervous beforehand about playing a long set, not knowing whether I’d be able to last. It turned out to be no problem whatsoever because Ozzy [Osbourne], Geezer [Butler] and Tommy [Clufetos] were nailing everything, no chance to feel tired!

"I’m really pleased with how it turned out, fantastic crowd and I want to say thank you to all of them for giving me such an amazing reception."

Sabbath’s next two reunion stops include a concert at the U.K.’s Download Festival on June 10 and at Lollapalooza in Chicago in August.

Thanks for the report to Andrew Vaughan, Gibson.com.
