That's actually true. If you listen to "Alone" or "Alone II", you'll hear that Rivers does have more than a few GREAT songs that he just...doesn't put on his albums.

How lame.

'how about picking a few and putting them on your record that you’ve put out because your last several have sucked.'

I think he needs to consider that himself personally...

Yeah, he's letting everything get to him I think.

However, he is right.

Indeed. I prefer Prince's two most recent albums to NIN's latest efforts. Not a big Weezer fan, personally, so I won't comment on that. But over time, Prince has jumped between genres and blended a lot of genres together...funk, rock, r&b, blues, electronic, latin, etc. While NIN, as much as I enjoy listening to them, have really only gone from hard-hitting thick industrial rock to...well, not-as-thick industrial rock with a more approachable feel. Both musicians are great at what they do, but I think they are in two completely different realms of music.

id rather listen to ANY weezer cd over listening to nine inch nails. i saw them live and they put on a good show. but the music and his voice are just bland to me.

They may put on a good show, but their recent albums have blown; the new one especially.

I love Trent xD And even as a Prince fan, I have to agree with Mr Reznor. His last few records have sucked, although "guitar" was quality.

I dont really get musicians bad mouthing other musicians. This is sports. You guys aren't battling head to head for every consumer dollar. Those 3 bands aren't even in the same genre. Maybe Trent has just always had a grudge against Prince because he is a tiny little dude that has pulled more trim than most dudes on this planet.

I thought he meant engaged in the current music scene? Well if he is engaged in a marital way, then congrats to him.

I love Nine Inch Nails' newest albums. They can't tough their first few releases, but I still consider them to be highly listenable. I love Prince as well. I just find Prince to be TOO over productive. You can pick out a couple of great songs on his newest cds and the rest are good but not memorable. If you put all of those couple of songs onto one cd, it would be extremely solid.
Weezer aren't bad. They're good, but I only really listen to their first two cds

So I know everyone in the world seems to think Trent is a genius and his music is amazing, but honestly, I think the guy is full of himself. He talks trash about everyone and everything, and It's starting to get old. There's a story on this site like once a week about Trent bashing something...

He can say whatever the hell he wants. Just because he criticizes someone else doesn't mean he thinks you have to like his music. Everyone criticizes music they don't like and not everyone has a forum to vent like Trent does. He's obviously has the balls to say what he feels.

The Slip was worse than Red Album.

I enjoy weezer and stuff, but was posting this as news necessary?

Trent. You need to come down off of your high horse b/c you're coming off as a holier-than-thou, judgmental *******. The irony is that these comments are coming from a man whose better music is clearly behind him as well. You're an ass! But hey, at least you admitted so by calling yourself a prick.

David_Bowie=GOD :
Hes been kind of an ass lately, but hes right. I don't expect every artist to think they don't write great songs, but some just brag about it a lot. I love Weezer but the red album was a bit disappointing(it still had its moments though).

He can say all he wants about Prince. Weezer are alright. Of course, I'm not big into NIN.

This is news?

I do like Trent and NIN - and his opinions - but seriously we DON'T need to know EVERY LITTLE THING he says!

Hmmm....so you are saying that you have the knowhow to play a guitar riff, use a waveform editor to flip the riff backwards (not just notes in reverse, I mean backwards sound) then make a complete song around said riff and confound guitarists everywhere who try and reproduce said riff. Because he did that on Wish. Which won a grammy....

Where's your grammy by the way????

Grammy's really don't mean much. lmao

They only means that you're popular.

Trent, Rivers, and Prince all are horrible and their better days (if you call them that) are all behind them.

Weezer I like, but nobody's going to honestly weigh weezer vs. NIN. It's like trying to compare Black Sabbath to The Rolling Stones.

But Prince? Yeah, he sucks these days. In think it's been like ten years since he put out a record that had any songs on it that I'd rate about a 7/10. The last two releases I think I listened to once each.
