Toxic Twins Steven Tyler
and Joe Perry
are to receive the ASCAP Founders Award in April, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers have confirmed.
They're to be honoured for their "exception contribution to music, inspiring and influencing their fellow music creators

The pair join big names including Neil Young
, Tom Waits
, Paul McCartney
, Joni Mitchel, Carly Simon, Patti Smith and many others who have previously been given the award.

And Tyler suggests that, after the release of 2012 album Music From Another Dimension, Aerosmith's songwriting days arent over. "It's been a life-long love affair and it's far from over

The 30th annual ASCAP Pop Music Awards takes place on April 17 at the Loews Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles.
