UG Reaches Two Milestones In The Same Week!

Had the staff of Ultimate-Guitar been gifted with scientific capabilities, we would be checking to see if some monumental changes had occurred out there in the universe on October 9. Hell, maybe even those horoscopes might have clued us in to the day’s events. After all, it’s not often that you hit two massive milestones in the course of a single day. Let’s just say that we at Ultimate-Guitar took the news as a sign of very, very good things to come.

This past Thursday Ultimate-Guitar celebrated its 10th birthday, a pretty significant event for a website that began as a labor of love for Eugeny Naidenov. If any of you were frequenters of UG back in the day, you might recall that the site has evolved from a humble home page featuring about 100 tabs to the massive music resource that it is today. There have been other guitar tablature-based sites that have come and gone over the past decade, but Ultimate-Guitar has weathered the storm through it all.

We’re still in awe that our 2nd milestone occurred pretty much on the same day as the Big 1-0. During our drunken birthday festivities, we also learned that we officially have one million registered users. This news bears even more weight because we are assured that Ultimate-Guitar has become a reliable and beneficial source for musicians all over the world. Hearing about that many UG devotees was sobering news that gives us all the more reason to provide the highest quality tablature, news, and interviews for years to come. Of course, it also demanded more drunken festivities.

We at Ultimate-Guitar truly thank all of our loyal devotees out there, and we realize that you’re the reason why we have thrived all these years. In the end we might just have played a small part in creating the next rock god, (insert your own name in this blank).
