Downloaded it yesterday, and it's great! I love the tab packs because I have an iPod touch but don't always have wifi. It's nice to see the auto scroll made it in too. A couple ideas for an update:

1) let us link our UG profile to transfer our favorites
2) include number of votes each tab recieved
3) make the comments viewable from the app

but it's great now too! Worth the $2

for me, the tab packs feature alone was worth the $2 because I have access to tabs (admittedly only a few) anywhere, wifi or no wifi. But if you have an iPhone and solid 3g, it is really just for convenience.

The ability to save favourites is pretty convenient even with wifi, but what actually sold it for me is that I can make tab packs and favourites available offline

plus, the autoscroll doesn't work with my ipod when I'm on safari/UG

This is better than going on safari because UG.com is very obtrusive to use on the iphone browser. This makes it much easier to find the tabs you're looking for. Thank you UG this is the app i've been waiting for! Whats the problem with advertising yourself a bit Metal_Militia15? These are real people with real families. Are you saying that you wouldn't take this opportunity to make some extra money if the fans wanted it?

While that is possible, it isn't very easy or practical. The phone would need to be zoomed in pretty far to be able to read the tabs, and you'd need to be constantly scrolling sideways as well as down to be able to read a whole line of the tab. You'd spend more time messing with the phone than playing your instrument. For $2 (and c'mon, who doesn't have that lying around in their couch somewhere?) you can simplify the whole experience and actually learn songs instead of scrolling all day.

I imagine it'll be pulled from the App store once the industry (MPA?) complains. I mean, technically, money is being made off of content derived from copyrighted works. Being in Russia may have allowed UG to avoid them so far; but Apple is an American company and will no doubt remove the app if a label complains or threatens to remove their music from iTunes. So, get it while you can, I guess!

1. fast and convenient tabs search
2. austoscroll
3. offline browsing of favorite tabs
4. tap packs

seriosly, before digital tabs surfaced on the web one would say what's the point in having tabs when you can use printed sheet music?

what's the point of having planes when you have cars and trains? because planes can do what cars can't and vice versa. I respect both choices. We are just giving an option to use Ultimate Guitar on your iPhone through an app designed *just* for iphone.

So the MPA doesn't care anymore that you distribute tabs? If so, that's great (I thought the whole thing was pretty despicable of them). I just remember the stuff from years ago when sites were being threatened by the MPA.

My point is, whether it's legal or not, if the MPA doesn't like it, they can influence Apple to remove the app from the store.

There is one, it's been out for a bit. I'm not naming it because I'm trying to promote it here, if you look, you will find. I'm just surprised UG didn't implement that into their app. Possibly a future update? I don't see how an app that does less has rocketed to the number one spot in the iTunes App Store’s top paid music downloads category, I love UG but their competitive advantage on this product is significantly lacking, especially when my money is asked for. Beef up the app!

I think this was a good app, but since this is an UG app, I think that it should include:
- Browsing the forums
- Wieving profiles, bands, etc. Also editing such

Awesome app, well done UG.

The tabs load up very quickly too even on 2G, much faster than going through Safari. The auto scroll which goes sideways too is a neat touch.

I'm sorry UG, but this app is just a piece of crap:

Im running it on a brandnew iPhone 3G (brandnew cause i sent it in 2 months ago and got a new one) and it just doesnt work:

- it crashed everytime I try to log in
- it took 3 minutes (!) to search for a tab
- sometimes it justs crashed after a couple of minutes loading a page
- "favorite tabs" didnt work

So i updated it and got this:

- it crashes (with the latest update) everytime the new message "Favorites Optimization" --> it just crashes EVERYTIME!

I mean, if the app was free I'd just say "Fuck it, great idea, bad development!" but earning money by selling shitty apps is just unbelievable.

I just want an app to log in, check my tabs, check the state of my new contributions and search for a new tab quickly! Is that to hard for 2$ ??
