Velvet Revolver Use YouTube To Recruit New Singer?

Velvet Revolver could be recruiting their replacement for former vocalist Scott Weiland via file sharing website YouTube, reports GIGWise.

Rolling Stone reports that unknown singers have been campaigning for the ultimate job by posting online video auditions.

Many have claimed that they have the inside track for the job, although no one in the Velvet Revolver camp has officially contacted any would be singers.

Drummer Matt Sorum admitted that the band had listened to some submissions sent in by mail but failed to confirm if they would be using YouTube to attain their new member.

In another interview, Matt Sorum said that he thinks Guns N' Roses will get back together. "I'm sure it'll happen eventually," he says. The drummer isn't so sure about his involvement in a reunion, however. "They could be having meetings about it right now. They could be in a bomb shelter, with Axl and Slash and Duff. And Izzy! Maybe Steven Adler - I don't know. I'd probably be the very, very, very last guy to get the call."

It almost sounds like Slash, Duff, and Dave might not be so hot on Sorum right now...I hope that isn't the case or it could be a long time, if ever, before we see another VR album.

Scott's voice was hot on both Contraband and Libertad but after seeing his performance at Download '07 I thought he was god awful.

chris cornell wouldn't join, he's happy with his solo career right now. That said he'd be a good choice being a similar type of singer to scott, as well as it helping his voice not to have to strain on a consistent basis. I think right now VR should push forward with someone currently in the band doing vox so they can at least get something done during the interim
