Weezer Sets Guinness World Records

With the release of their new video, "Troublemaker", Weezer have set no less than 5 Guinness World Records.

Stuart Claxton, a Guinness World Record official, was present during the filming to confirm the records.

The records broken are:

  • Largest Game of Dodgeball (50 people on each team, 100 total)
  • Most People in a Custard Pie Fight (120 people)
  • Most People Riding on a Skateboard (22 people)
  • Largest Air Guitar Ensemble (233 people)
  • Longest Guitar Hero World Tour Marathon (10 hours, 12 minutes, 54 seconds)

In addition to these records, Weezer drummer Patrick Wilson played on what the band is calling "The World’s Smallest Drum Kit". They’re also trying to get this recognized in the World Records.

"Troublemaker" is the second single from the band’s latest self-titled album, known as The Red Album. The video premiered Monday on Yahoo Music.

    Report by David Lowe-Bianco.

Haha, that game makes my eyes water after playing for even a short amount of time. Imagine 10 hours haha.
I thought the World Record would be album purchases or something surprising. Still, pretty awesome for a band to hit up so many world records in only one video!

Oh okay, I hadn't seen it yet. More than anything I'd really just like the song to be on the radio, and I'm pretty sure it isn't on any stations I listen to in Indy. It's probably too long, or maybe even too awesome.

This trick wouldn't be any cheaper than smashing your instruments at the end of a show or lighting your guitar on fire?

No, this is too creative to be that kind of a typical musician gimmick (+5 to anyone who gets my reference)
