Wolfmother: ARIA Music Awards Winners

Wolfmother landed three top gongs at the ARIA Music Awards in Australia last night (October 29), reports GIGWise.

The retrogressive rockers walked away with the Best Group, Best Album and Best Breakthrough Album for their eponymous debut

The trio also performed a live rendition of "Joker And The Thief" at the Sydney Accer Stadium bash.

The ARIAs (Australian Recording Industry Aassociation awards) is widely perceived as the most important music ceremony down under.

Elswhere on the night, U2’s Bono was inducted into the ARIAs music hall of fame.

Grr Bono wasnt inducted into the Hall of Fame he isnt even aussie!!! he just helped induct Midnight Oil into the ARIA hall of fame ... why would they induct an irishman into the AUSSIE MUSIC HALL OF FAME :S....

Joker and the Thief was a good performance. Silverchair did a pretty good Midnight Oil cover which is good since they havent appeared on free to air tv for so long. Overall was a good ARIAS

Im pretty sure theyll fix it soon. Wolfmother pwns the other bands that peformed at the arias. Congrats to them. They worked bloody hard to make some decent sounding music.

Jeez what a badly written article. Come on UG. Apart from the Bono thing, Wolfmother didn’t with Best Album, Bernard Fanning did (frontman from Powderfinger doin a solo jaunt) with Tea and Sympathy and it was well deserved. Its set for release overseas in the US, UK and Canada.
Wolfmother performance was awesome. They destroyed their equipment at the end of the song. Kewl.

The Wolfmother performance was so incredibly lame, I could hardly watch. I was just left wondering why they would destroy all their equipment. It was a complete rip off of The Who, the difference being it was cool and original when The Who did it. Everything Wolfmother has done to date has reinforced my belief that they are just a classic rock cover band that refuses to admit it to others or themselves. And man Andrew Stockdale is a weener.

What the hell is wrong with being a "classic rock" band? Retro-rock is a perfectly honest category of music. Half the time these groups play better and catchier riffs than any popular contemporary bands.

i love their music but stockdale is arrogant and was obviously drugged up on the nite...he sung outa tune and stuffed up a few notes on guitar.
but they were awesome in concert nd din do anything gay like destroy their instruments
they deserved all the awards that they got.

The performance got voted the best performance of the ARIAs and was a darn cite better than Eskimo Joe who are supposed to be the one of the best live acts in Australia right now. Who cares if his vocal was off a little bit, thats what made it interesting and exciting to watch.

pigglesworth is a dooche bag and has no clue or taste in good music. and wtf? the name that he has alone spells loser. goddamn retards that are jealous of the success of a band that finally sheds a good light on the 21st century era of music. they define what good music is and what it should be. they revived a genre that has been gone for way too long. the only problem i foresee for them is that they will become the posterchilds for their revival of the genre and then they will destroy it. but they are awesome and **** you pigglesworth. your a loser who's probably 30 something living at home with mommy. what a fag.
