Raizer Sabre :
warner owns like so much now. music, films, tv shows, cartoons. it's like "warner: we won't stop til the world is ours!"

Why doesn't this country enforce it's antitrust laws anymore? Seriously, pretty soon there's only going to be 1 or 2 cell phone companies, 1 or 2 cable tv companies, and 1 or 2 record labels. This shit is very borderline illegal, and only benefits the corporate fat cats while screwing the consumer.

I still just hope it leads to more distribution and recognition to heavy ass music. I'm totally shocked that it took companies 25 years to catch on to what sort of revolution roadrunner had started. People give them a hard saying they screw bands over(which may be true), but with some of the spectacular music thats been created in their confines, I cant complain. I still just hope that this helps heavy metal out instead of hurting it...

in that inital aquision, is that why warner got glassjaw?

i only wonder the true ethics of this whole merger. the real metal attitude is "**** establishment!", so why join up with the biggest label around?

I don't have a problem with the sale, it's the nature of the free market. I'd rather a world where this happens than a communist world.

But, roadrunner screwing bands over? It has happened before (like dumping sepultura after changing vocalist and dumping machine head but then offerring a contract back later when they heard what they [nearly] missed out on). But some other bands in my opinion released their best work after signing over to roadrunner (namely Nightwish and Opeth). I'm curious to see how Megadeth's new album on RR will be (awesome i'm sure), but then again Dave Mustaine said his main reason for choosing RR was the creative freedom he was offerred.
