Guns N' Roses Album Due Later This Year

Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose was a guest on the "Kevin & Bean" show on the Los Angeles radio station KROQ on Friday, August 18. Axl touched upon such topics as the upcoming Inland Invasion show, the recent European tour and the band's current setlist. Listen to the 10-minute interview at this location.

Rose has been saying that Guns N' Roses' long-delayed new album, "Chinese Democracy", will be out later this year.

Guns N' Roses' "Greatest Hits" collection, which was originally issued in March of 2004, was certified triple-platinum on April 11, 2006 by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) for shipments in excess of three million copies. The CD sold almost 15,000 copies in the United States last week alone (week ending August 13), bringing the total number of copies sold since its release to 3.11 million, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Guns N' Roses has lined up several West Coast dates in September, including an appearance at the Inland Invasion 2006 in Devore, CA on September 23.

There's nothing in that interview that said anything about the new album, he just talked about playing in California. Just another speculation on the release date. However, I am confident that it will come out this year, based on the fact that axl said from his own mouth that it will be released sometime late this fall.

if and when it does come out, i assure we'll all be extremely dissapointed. no album is worth 13 years or however long its been. and its not even guns n roses anymore. its just "axl rose with some other guys standing behind them". thanks, but i think i'll just look out for the next velvet revolver album.

They've been saying that for many years now, why should it be true this time? Hopefully I'm wrong though, and it is released this year. We've been waiting for too long for it. If it does come out I'm sure it'll be really good.

the music was good at one point, but then every1 was fired or left. now it's just axl and some session musicians who aren't getting work otherwise. re-name the band. and i'm sorry, but this won't get released this year, hell, if it's never released that wouldn't surprise me.

He's actually lost weight since the last tour, cuz I saw them in Toronto in 2002, and he was freaking fat, lol. I think it's actually gonna come out this time, it will mark a huge comeback for GN'R, I've heard every single track leak and they're all awesome, and I'll never lose faith that it will come out

I am a huge gnr fan and i am an axl rose supporter, however I do agree with you. Axl would not lose at all if he renamed his group or just used his name. He would actually gain a lot of respect for that...its like paul mccartney and wings or peter gabriel, those guys had amazing careers after they left there group. He wouldnt lose out at all in my opinion if he used his own name rather than gnr....either the album will still kick ass.

I cannot wait for this album to be released. I think it will be released this year, and some of the songs I've heard from it are amazing. Sure, it idn't the old GnR, the music is the sam quality - the difference to me is they aren't coming on stage drunk, acting like jerks to other people or taking drugs.

actually, robin finck was in nine inch nails. richard fortus was in the psychadelic furs. brian mantia was in praxis. bumblefoot has about five solo albums out. tommy stinson has a side band. they would have work otherwise; these guys are all distinguished musicians. if you knew how much of a perfectionist axl rose was then you would realize he has to pick good musicians.

Tommy Stinson was also in a liddle band called "the replacements".

Richard Fortus also toured last year with German songstress Nena, on an arena tour. The guys could easily find work elsewhere and play more shows but choose to be in and stay in Guns n' Roses.

Lets hope Izzy Stradlin' keeps popping up along the US, he does bring a real authenticity to proceedings. With Axl,Izzy n' Dizzy on stage it's hard to not conceed that its Guns n' Roses.

The band also just played a complete Euro tour 30+ dates, the only cancelled show's were the ones supporting the stones - which got cancelled due to incidents with said band, gravity and trees :P
