Machine Head Talk To Metal Injection

Machine Head was interviewed by Metal Injection on the "black carpet" of last week's (April 7) Epiphone Revolver Golden Gods Awards at Club Nokia in downtown Los Angeles. Watch the chat here.

Machine Head is continuing to tour in support of its Grammy-nominated album "The Blackening", which was re-released as a "special edition" last October via Roadrunner Records.

Hailed unanimously as the best metal album of 2007 by journalists, metal radio stations and fans alike, "The Blackening" earned a Grammy nomination for the fan-favorite track "Aesthetics Of Hate".

"The Blackening Special Edition" is two-disc CD/DVD set that features an assortment of extras, including rare bonus tracks such as covers of Iron Maiden's "Hallowed Be Thy Name", over an hour of live performance footage from With Full Force, Download and Rock in Rio festivals, three uncensored music videos for "Aesthetics of Hate", "Now I Lay Thee Down" and "Halo", a "making-of" featurette on each video, "The Making of The Blackening" and expanded artwork. There's also what many hardcore fans have been rabidly waiting for: four never-before-seen performances of Machine Head celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, "Burn My Eyes", captured in Philadelphia in 2004.

Why Aesthetics Of Hate?
It might just be me but I thought that was one of the worse songs on the album, but at least the guy who ****ed with Dimebag and metal fans got owned.

This really didnt tell us much, but Machine head is ****ing awesome i have high hopes for the next album, i think they can pull off something similar to the blackening...maybe not better than....although if they can top the blackening then i will be speechless

I would honestly hate to be Machine Head because the Blackening is retarded good. How the hell can u follow up that record. Machine Head and Lamb of God know how to put out good records which is why theyre my two fav bands. cant wait till 2011 -> new machine head =)

Aesthetics of hate is awesome, but everyone knows the best track on The Blackening is Halo. That song is just... wow. Its unbelievable

why does machine head always have to take forever to release an album, i mean it took em pretty much 3 years to follow up burn my eyes, i understand that their a bunch of road dogs but to keep upmomentum you really have to try and rerlease records more frequently, i mean if i were them id build on the sheer power of the blackening with a follow up by mid 2009/early 2010, why 2011? oh an clenching was th best of th blackening easy, an the first machine head song i properly heard

If Machine Head release an album better than The Blackening, then I will call them the greatest band of all time. Master of Puppets would look like a joke. But I don't think the Blackening can be topped. But even if it's Ashes-level I will be greatly pleased.

I listened to all of the blackening straight through and was stunned! Best metal album of the decade! It pawned blackwater park in my opinion. I must say I own all machine head cds now. The blackening made me a lifelong fan! "now I lay thee down" shoulda got a grammy!

Really good album, loved every song on it, especially the guitar intro to slanderous. I have full faith in them to top it, being the competent musicians that they are.

The Blackening is an amazing album. It doesn't bother me that they take so long to write new material because it has always been worth the wait.

Don't blaspheme metallica like that. No metal band can top what metallica did in the 80s, but Machine head is badass. I love them. They have strayed from their metallica influence a bit in sound recently but its epic as hell though.

Nah, they should so not rush the next album out. The reason Machine Head always manages to amaze with every album is because they put so much time and effort into it.

It's impossible to top The Blackening. Machine Head could disband right now and it wouldn't bother me in the least because I would be able to reflect on the fact that I lived to see the single handedly greatest thrash metal album of all time to be released... and the fact that I got to see them TWICE while they were touring in support of that album

Machine head can do it ,they need to take a lil time and dont rush it get there minds all clear ,hell you never no they could pull one out of there hats that would bloww all of them away.only time will tell.
