A five-minute audio interview with Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, conducted earlier this month by Steve Black of Detroit's WRIF 101.1 FM, has been posted online at this location.
As previously reported, Pearl Jam have created a video for "Life Wasted", the second single from the band's self-titled new album. This is the band's first music video since "Do The Evolution" from 1998's "Yield". The clip was available for free downloading at Google Video until yesterday (Wednesday, May 24) under the Creative Commons license, allowing people around the world to legally copy, distribute and share it for non-commercial purposes.
Pearl Jam singer
Eddie Vedder says that "Life Wasted" is based on a way of looking at life that he feels strongly about. "
You want to live while you're alive," he told Launch. "
You know, I don't want to waste my life addicted to some kind of chemical, I don't want to waste my life in a bad relationship, and I also don't want to be a liability to the planet. It's a reminder, really, because otherwise, you know, you get involved in life's, you know, responsibilities, and forget that this could be a one-shot deal, and to get the most of it."
Pearl Jam's new album, their eighth studio effort, arrived in stores on May 2 and debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200. Thanks for the info to Blabbermouth.net.
