Hey guys,
Zach here. I just wanted to drop in and give you all an update from the
2013 NAMM Show.Everything is running smoothly and yesterday was quite the successful, albeit exhausting day on the NAMM floors. The UG team was hard at work getting the low down on this year's newest products from the likes of
EMG,
Blackstar,
Vox,
Orange,
IK Multimedia,
Fender,
Paul Reed Smith,
ESP,
Ernie Ball,
Ibanez, and much more.

We were also present for a handful of press conferences, including an exciting conference from
Schecter.
Avenged Sevenfold's
Synyster Gates was there to announce the new Schecter Synyster Gates signature amplifier, the
Hellwin, revealing the process of creating the amp and the story behind it (I guess after a half dozen Manhattans, Gates and his friend thought putting a spin on his middle name,
Ellwin, would be a suitable name for an amp.) Bummer the thing wasn't set up for a demo from Gates, but from what the amp's creators disclosed, it should be a solid, versatile amp.

And as we continue on today, we'll undoubtedly see more legendary musicians, live performances, gear demos and bizarre NAMM visitors.I'll leave you with a few highlights from yesterday:
Artist sightings included Zakk Wylde, Kerry King, Albert Lee, John Petrucci, Herman Li, Glen Phillips, Chris Broderick, Orianthi, Fieldy, and of course, Guthrie Govan.Shaking Willie Adler's hand during a cigarette break.Oh, and Bill Kelliher from Mastodon says "hi."
Stay tuned for more quick updates as the weekend progresses, and keep your eyes out for full comprehensive NAMM reports early next week.Cheers!By Zach Pino
