According to Blabbermouth.net, a 13-year-old Machine Head fan by the name of Anthony Potenza joined the band on stage this past Sunday, January 29 at the Town Ballroom in Buffalo, New York to perform their song "Aesthetics Of Hate".
Potenza - who has been playing guitar for two and a half years and says he is "self taught" - was brought up on stage after he held up a sign that said "Let This 13-Year-Old Play 'Aesthetics Of Hate' With You."
Fan-filmed video footage of the performance can be seen below.
In a post on his Facebook page, Potenza wrote about the experience of playing with Machine Head, "It was so fun just looking up and seeing only people like it never ended; it was amazing." He added, "[The band] hung out with me after the show they were all so nice. I can't wait for them to come back."
Machine Head is currently headlining a North American tour with support from Suicide Silence and Darkest Hour.
My friend saw this article and said "so what, Green Day did this too." Obviously, he has never heard Aesthetics Of Hate. I've been playing for over four years (self taught), and I'll be damned if I'll be able to play Aesthetics anytime soon.
Cool to see Machine Head do something like this. I went to a Down show and held a sign that said "let me play guitar for one song," and all I got in response was Phil and Pepper pointing than laughing at me haha
