The opening riff reminded me very much of a Disturbed song, but I can't remember which one.
But then they proved they are 10x the band Disturbed will ever be. I can't believe Creed was hiding away these awesome musicians for so long.

The heavy riffs are great. It sounds like they dialed in a little Killswitch Engage in their sound. The shredder lead licks in the prechorus parts are pretty awesome too.

I'm glad AB didn't completely change their sound and evolve into one of those horrible bands. The music sounds great and Kennedy's voice is just as powerful as ever. Creed can suck it compared to AB.

I'm one of the few people who still loves Creed, flame me if you will, but I'd have to say Creed could never get as good as Alter Bridge is becoming. Tremonti is just more open in writing, probably because of Myles's amazing vocal range.

Great song, not sure I would have put it as the first single off the album, but definitely one I would put in the show. Love the heavy riffs and great hooks. I think that if this is what one of their okay (mind you, their okay is better than most bands great) songs sound like, their great songs (the blackbirds, metalingus', white knuckles, etc.) should be absolutely mind blowing.

Also, kudos to UG for putting this article up before I got a chance to...you are fast learners...

You know, Alterbridge is okay. I just feel like they are your typical modern day rock band. I personally feel that they are a step or two above the norm, but generally speaking they aren't doing anything that hasn't really been done 1,000,000 times in the last 10 years.

I see what you're saying, but I have to disagree. Yeah it's been done before, but they're a mainstream band. This is what mainstream rock SHOULD sound like. Pretty much all other mainstream rock bands today have no imagination; they just play 4 chord songs, no guitar solos, etc.

Check out their first album. It's not as heavy.

As much as I love this band, I really wish they would break their habit of using the same structure in every single song (though "Blackbird" is somewhat of an exception).

I was thinking the same thing about them vs. Disturbed. Asylum is a good album, but so far nothing on it has caught my ear as 'excellent'. This single, though - a great riff, really solid work from the rhythm section, and Myles is still using his voice to its fullest. I'm definitely picking this up at release, no questions asked.

It's good that they've chosen this song to be the first single, cause they scared me quite a lot when they released Rise Today from Blackbird as single, which was the worst song on that album in my opinion

This song is just ****ing amazing man! I don't think (allthough I do hope) this will mean the whole album will be heavier, but this song just made me forget all the music I listened too recently; the auto-pilot Disturbed album, 10 Years trying it heavy and Stone Sour going the mellow way and LinkinPark going down the black hole...

Such a great song that proves to me some bands still can to rock... all I can say is F*CK YEAH!

I don't think this kind of solo is Myles' style, but he does have some serious skill when it comes to playing. I definately think he had my favourite solo on the last album though (The first solo in the song blackbird), so I guess I can let him off for not having an amazing one here.

That is kind of true. However, that doesn't set it apart enough from the others for me. The guitar solos are very good in Alter Bridge, but fall into that generic solo category in my mind.

Not too bad, but still sounds like something off of Blackbird. Michael Baskette's production is too muddled for my taste. Creed's Full Circle blows this one out of the water. Every ringing acoustic note in Creed's song "Time" destroys this AB song. But hey that's just me. Still looking forward to the new AB 3 album.

I've heard that this might be one of the more 'upbeat' songs on the new album. This is gonna be sick.

And yes, Myles is the best singer out there today. Not to be the rumor guy, but I understand Mark might be singing a little more on this album too.

Aaah i just wish AB would quit all the exessive vocal layering/harmonizing. Now and again it's appropriate.. but all the time? And I think Mark should go back to his Human Clay guitar tone.

Other that that, I think this is sounding very promising. Don't know if it can top BB though..

I recovered my account to comment on this.
Does anyone else see a problem with ALTER BRIDGE *supporting* Godsmack?

You know, Alterbridge is okay. I just feel like they are your typical modern day rock band. I personally feel that they are a step or two above the norm, but generally speaking they aren't doing anything that hasn't really been done 1,000,000 times in the last 10 years.

No other band is able to do everything right like they have. AB has is all and their music speaks for itself.
