"Stingin' Belle" is the first track taken from Biffy Clyro's upcoming new album, "Opposites".
File under: a triumphal return for the idiosyncratic Scots rockers... we particularly like the bagpipes, along with the prickly line: "You think you’re cool like a porcupine".
Describing "Opposites" as a "weird" album, frontman Simon Neil reckons that "Stingin' Belle" is a good representation of what people can expect when the record is released later this year.
"
It was one of the first songs that really clicked when we were recording it. It represents the record and It shows how over-the-top the record is. It might be our last really over-the-top record."
He added: "We’re still keeping things musical, still being as weird as we’ve always been."
Biffy Clyro will appear at London's Roundhouse on September 22 as part of the month-long iTunes Festival.
