Black Sabbath have issued a studio update on their long-awaited new album, due in April 2013.
On their Facebook page the band confirmed that Tony Iommi has returned to the studio to record the final guitar tracks, and posted a picture of his amps and axes. You can see them in the image below.
Ozzy Osbourne was recently mistaken when he said that Iommi had already finished his guitar parts, as Iommi explained in early November: "We recorded the 15 songs at my house first in England, just as demos. But now we're doing them for real. We're about six songs in now."
Meanwhile, the band is preparing the release of "The Vinyl Collection: 1970 - 1978". It includes fully-remastered vinyl versions of nine studio albums, select 7" singles, a hardback book with original tour programmes, a download voucher and more.

Can you name all of his guitars and equipment? Have a go in the comments.
I'm mainly curious to see if they'll try to get the same sound as earlier sabbath or just go and do something totally different.
Ya know how there was a big shift in sound going from
Paranoid to Master Of Reality
and like when they went from
Sabotage to Technical Ecstasy
Id actually be really happy if they went back to Master Of Reality or Vol. 4 sound wise.
As for the box set. Words cannot describe how insanely excited I am for this. I can never seem to find many Sabbath vinyls around here and the ones I do find are pretty much JUST Paranoid. So getting all 8 studio albums, singles, and the rest of that stuff all in one go would be AMAZING.
- Black Sabbath
- Paranoid
- Master Of Reality (with poster)
- Volume 4 (with photo insert book)
- Sabbath Bloody Sabbath
- Sabotage
- Technical Ecstasy
- Never Say Die
- Live At Last
Ah okay.
Well the reason i asked is because it says in the article
"fully-remastered vinyl versions of nine studio albums "
I wouldn't really consider a live album to be a studio album.
If this was The Beatles this would never happen. This is a bloody joke to the fans. Black Sabbath will never have one final album. Let's face it Never Say Die was the last real Sabbath album with Ozzy.
I suppose the following bands don't exist either/aren't real bands due to missing original members: Dream Theater, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Smashing Pumpkins, AC/DC, Iron Maiden, KISS, Motorhead, Rolling Stones
I'm not saying I'm against a band not having the original lineup, I'm just saying that it's wrong that this is being called a reunion when its only a partial reunion at best. If they couldn't get Bill Ward to join, they should have gone with Vinny Appice, not the drummer Ozzy's solo band
Vinny is a terrible drummer, IMO. I'm glad they didn't go with him. He has no groove and no style. Boring.
Clufetos might not even be drumming on the new album anyway. Apparently they are using another drummer in the studio instead (this was first mentioned by Joe S. - admin of black-sabbath.com), so fingers crossed it's someone that plays with more swing than he does!
Can't wait!
