Ex-Korn guitarist, Brian "Head" Welsh has posted a stream of his upcoming single "Paralyzed".
The track will be part of an EP to be released early next year and has been produced by former Red guitarist Jasen Rauch who has also worked with Breaking Benjamin.
Welsh has been touring his debut solo album "Save Me Form Myself" with his band and last month announced a split from his record label on his personal website:
"Life is a crazy roller coaster ride, man. The ups and downs we go through are enough to drive us insane if we let them.
"I’m sure all of you know the story of my separation from KoRn many years ago and the victories and struggles I’ve been through since. Through it all, I’ve noticed something really cool happen in me the last few years. I’ve actually grown to accept and appreciate the struggles in life so much, because without them, there would be no victories.
"Recently, I have split from my record label Driven Music Group, and I have faced many new struggles in my life. However, I’ve also been traveling the world with my band (Valentine, Dan and J.R.) playing for you, my amazing fans! I am so excited to announce that a new chapter in my life is finally here and I’m so thankful that all of you can be a part of it!
"I know a lot of you have been waiting a long time for new music from us, and honestly, so have we! Which is why we’re so excited to tell you that we’ve been writing and recording with Jasen Rauch, one of the top producers and former guitarist of Red. It feels amazing to be back in the studio and making new music! A new EP will be out early next year, and we cannot wait for you to hear what we’re working on! It is definitely some of the best music I’ve ever been a part of."
This is the best thing anyone related to Korn has ever put out. Head's really grown into his voice. I'm glad he's on his own. Can't wait to get the EP when it comes out. Jasen Rauch is one awesome hard rock producer, so I have no doubts that all the songs will be this good.
The lyrics are a bit depressing. But the song itself was quite good. Blows the new Korn out of the ****ing water. Looking forward to this release for sure.
Welch not welsh. Spellcheck much? I also love how he's still Ex-Korn Guitarist Brian Welch, not solo artist Brian Welch. Regardless, super excited for the new ep
His last album had the worst lyrics I've ever heard, and the music was pretty crap too. This sounds quite bad too, very generic. I don't have very high hopes for this album, to say the least.
sounds great but it's true the lyrics are depressing, sounds a little like early korn first album, well guitar wiseadn that's how it felt at the beginnig f the song!
I don't dig the vocals, the vocals sound like Mark Chavez, early Adema, but the instrumentals are sick, this stomps all over Korn. Pity they went Dubstep... I imagine many of the Korn fans that were sticking with them that don't cope with their Dubstep move just got shoved straight into Head's crowd.
This is really good. Goes to show where all of Korn's talent went. I'm glad Brian is still at it. This is a big step up from Save Me From Myself. I'm diggin' it. That's all I'm saying.
Fuckin cool song, not sure bout the lyrics. Didn't really think much of them on his first album either tho. Definately stinks of early Adema, which is ok in my book!
After hearing Korn's latest single and this song, it seems like Korn and Brian Welch are two different entities now. Whereas Korn dabbles with dubstep to mixed reactions (from the listeners), Welch seems like he's aiming for a more old-school style of sound similar to early Korn material. I love the sound, but I need to listen closely to hear the lyrics.
