This December Chevelle will be unleashing their sixth yet-to-be titled sixth studio album.
Produced by Joe Barresi (Queens of the Stone Age, Coheed and Cambria), the record promises to deliver the brooding, metal-tinged brand of hard rock the Illinois power-trio has built their reputation on.
Noisecreep has the exclusive world premiere of "Face To The Floor," the first single from Chevelle's forthcoming album. The song's instantly memorable guitar riff and snaking rhythms makes it an essential addition to the band's already stellar discography. Check out the track below and hear for yourself.
Chevelle is a remarkably consistent band, but yet they change it up, just a little bit, to keep it fresh and new. It's not monotonous like a lot of other bands especially when they've been around for awhile. Looking forward to the new album.
It's not bad! I like the progression that they have been through. I loved Vena Sera and SciFi Crimes, but they seem to be getting back to the Point#1 rawness. Now I know this is just a sample of the album, but I think it sounds awesome.
I've never understood what people like about this band, and this song doesn't help that any.

I listened to the piece of shit. I'll say what I think about it.

Hell yeah! I've always had a big liking for Chevelle, they don't do anything too crazy and they're not really that unique but they just do it better than everyone else. They're like a non-death metal Amon Amarth.
At first this song sounded to me like a deleted track from Undertow (not necessarily a bad thing) but now I'm really digging it. It's bouncy, bassy, and a little bluesy.
Chevelle keep getting closer to the Tool camp! Hiring Joe Barresi for this new album inches them closer! In a good way however.
I think its easy to compare them to tool because they clearly draw heavy influence from them, but i feel like this is more of them same ole shit from chevelle. its still somewhat catchy tho
Best modern band yet, and they been around a quite a few years so they have quite a few notches in their belt. I remember seening them live for the first time, reminds me of old Coal Chamber mixed with Tool, but their style is unique in their fashion. I'm a fan.
Awesome stuff!
I really hope they reschedule the South African dates they cancelled to record it. xD
I'm a new fan, but this is definitely some awesome shit!
I understand the Tool comparisons and honestly the first time I ever heard the song Prove to You I thought it was a Tool song. But as someone who has heard every song by Chevelle I find them to have their own unique sounds as a hard rock band. Every album is fresh for me without selling out to what's popular on the radio.

People are allowed to have opinions. You're acting like this guy was dissing your mom. I dont find chevelle all that special either especially because my homeroom teacher plays it everyday. To me its very repetitive but alot of epople like it. Thats ok.
Well, usually they go for more of an AEnima/Mer De Noms type of ripoff, but--especially in the intro riff and such--it comes off very Undertow sounding. Like Prison Sex or something.
With hate like that spewing, you probably wouldn't believe I highly enjoy 50-75% of this band's work, haha.

Is it wrong that I bought a baritone PRS just to play Chevelle material?? Definitely in my top 5 bands.
Yes. Way too high end of a guitar just to play EZ riffs with.
They're a 3 piece band, if you want intricate layering go listen elsewhere. Pete keeps it simple to play live and sing which I have no problems with.
Saw them live in columbus recently, they rocked pretty hard. I've seen them 7 times and its always great, and very consistent. Crowd was crazy. They played this song and i memorized the riff and have since then been playing. I will say they are my favorite band.

The problem is not that you don't like the song/band; the problem is that you didn't give any reason for it. Saying stuff like "I don't like x band for y reason" is perfectly OK, but you really didn't contribute anything to the article.
I typically don't like "nu-metal", but Chevelle is a great band, albeit a tad repetitive. But what they do, they do well.
I love Chevelle and I dig that song and I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but that riff TOTALLY reminded me of the riff from Nickelback's Hangnail off of Silver Side Up. *Flameshield Activated*
Love chevelle, songs good. I get the tool comparisons, sidenote to the creed fans, doesnt this riff sound a bit like some of marks guitarwork on the full circle album?
