Chevelle: 'Hats Off To The Bull' Album Streaming

Chevelle's new album, "Hats Off To The Bull", won't hit stores till this Tuesday, Dec. 6, but that doesn't mean you have to wait till then to check it out. Our friends over at Loudwire.com are currently hosting an exclusive stream of the entire album at this link.

Produced by Joe Barresi (Queens Of The Stone Age, Coheed And Cambria), the record delivers more of the brooding, metal-tinged brand of hard rock the Illinois power-trio is famous for.

Chevelle tour dates:
12/02 – Clemson, SC @ Littlejohn Coliseum
12/03 – West Palm Beach, FL @ Cruzan Ampitheater
12/05 – New Orleans, LA @ House of Blues
12/06 – Houston, TX @ Verizon Wireless Theater
12/10 – Los Angeles, CA @ Gibson Ampitheater
12/14 – Austin, TX @ La Zona Rosa
12/15 – Tyler, TX @ Click's
12/16 – Biloxi, MS @ Mississippi, Coast Coliseum

Thanks for the report to Noisecreep.com.

Kind of a haunting album...Chevelle has really lost their heaviness over these last couple albums imo

Been available for a couple of days now, but it is a new week. Clones was probably my favorite track on this one, with several close seconds. Every album has its own style tho, even if the changes are very subtle. The more I listen the more I like. Love this band.

Thing is - Chevelle is one of those bands always criticized for being unoriginal and that all albums sound the same...So they make an album that has a bit of a sound (not a huge departure IMO) and now they are being criticized for abandoning their sound. Lose, Lose

Be careful with the word "criticized", most of the comments I've seen say that their albums are all similar but they have formula that works well. I don't see that as a criticism. Their new album is good, but I see their last two albums as a shift from heavy, in-your-face, riffs to more melodic, harmonizing sections. That's not bad, just different.

This album is growing on me. What I noticed is there's a lot of different guitar textures on here, and there aren't very many catchy vocal melodies. Honestly, it seems like they made this album without radio play in mind. I can respect that. Doesn't weaken the album for me at all. Good album is good.

Vena Sera was their best one. Love em all, but for some reason that one's my favorite. And in no way have the lost their heavy edge, vena sera was probably their heaviest one yet, and Sci-fi was by no means a pop album.
