I liked the soap on a rope one better.

Actually, was hoping they would make a video for Down the Drain, it deserves one.

Does anyone else think that Hagar kinda dilutes the awesomeness of Chickenfoot? I'm sorry, maybe I wasn't around to experience him in his prime, so I don't have that nostalgia factor going in.

His voice isn't that strong (and amazing voice has never been a priority for VH singers), but it is gruff and gives a good rock vibe. But I find his lyrics rather atrocious. I don't know how old he is, but he seems like he's still trying to pull the old 80's hair metal standard and write songs about getting it on with 17 year old girls. EFFIN GROSS.

The rest of the guys are beasts, I think I would rather listen to them without Hagar.

youre missing the point. that voice is basically the essence of rock and roll from his era (which is where it got REALLY big). this is a rock and roll group, a new 'classic' rock band. they arent trying to re-invent the wheel.

and who cares what his hair looks like?

Soap on a rope rocks. Great band, purely unashamed rock from a bygone age. Love it!

Great track, not-so-great video. Soap on a Rope and Oh Yeah had really fun videos and captured the "WOO YEAH FUN TIME FOLKS" vibe the band has.

Haven't listened to much Hagar stuff outside Chickenfoot, but I think his voice suits Chickenfoot as it's just so obvious he's having such fun.

Well, that's what I was wanting to know. Maybe I'm just missing the link, because I wasn't around to see Hagar do his thing initially, so I don't have that connection, i.e. that nostalgia factor I mentioned.

I understand, though, that Chickenfoot are the first classic rock sounding band to break through in awhile. People know they don't have alterior motives to make a hit, or whatnot. They just want to rock.

But when I said gross, it wasn't about his hair. I just kinda picture him as some sort of grandpa figure, yet he likes to write about fooling around with young girls. More power to him, I just don't like the image. And fairly, no matter what, I think his writing is a little weak.

Dude above me is right. Sammy's lyrics are extremely sophomoric. Also, his voice isn't great. Even worse, he has no dymanic range. He constantly sounds as if his wang is caught in his zipper.

Sammy Hagar is the reason why I can't stand Chickenfoot. This is coming from a guy whose favorite band is RHCP, and favorite guitarist is Satriani. I even love Van Halen. But thanks to sammy, every single song sounds the exact same when he starts singing. The lyrics are weak, the vocals are repetitive. This would have been 10X more enjoyable if it were an instrumental album.

These guys have amazing songs.. but each time i hear them.. Oh Yeah! Soap on A Rope, Down The Drain, Sexy Little Thing... i find theres something missing. cant really put my finger on it.. but they need something to create that perfect song.

For a band made up of all these talented individuals, the music they put out is down right plain and mediocre imo, im rather disapointed.

since I am a huge fan of all three bands or acts these guys came from, i hate myself for saying this a little, but this album just downright sucks. I guess some of the songs are ok, but sammy's lyrics are just stupid, and his vocal tones (or should I say tone) are so tiring after a while...imo the only decent song on there is "future is the past," mostly because of satch's great funk-rock guitar line and how well it blends with chad's RHCP sensibilities

Hagar does not rock at all.
He made Van Halen go from great to lame almost overnight.
His solo stuff is nothing to write home about and his cheeseball lyrics make Chickenfoot sound like they are right out of 1988.

I'd rather listen to Lady GaGa than that song.
It was horrible.

I'm glad 'Them Crooked Vultures' is a supergroup that I can count on!

I'm a huge fan of Chad Smith and Joe Satriani. Can you guess why I hate Chickenfoot? I really wanted to like this band when I first heard of them, too...
