Coheed And Cambria have revealed full details of the first half of their new double album "The Afterman".
The album will come in two parts, with the first, which is named "The Afterman: Ascension", released on October 8. The second half, which is titled "The Afterman: Descension", is set for release in February. It has been produced by Michael Birnbaum and Chris Bittner.
The band have confirmed the tracklisting for the album, with nine tracks set to feature on the record, including a four-part series titled "Key Entity Extraction".
You can hear the first part of this, which is named "Key Entity Extraction I: Domino The Destitute", by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and clicking.
As with the band's previous releases, their new albums are set within the alternative universe of Heaven's Fence and are part of a long-term story series called "The Amory Wars".
The tracklisting for "The Afterman: Ascension" is as follows:
01. The Hollow 02. Key Entity Extraction I: Domino The Destitute 03. The Aftermath 04. Mothers Of Men 05. Goodnight, Fair Lady 06. Key Entity Extraction II: Hollywood The Cracked 07. Key Entity Extraction III: Vic The Butcher 08. Key Entity Extraction IV: Evagria The Faithful 09. Subtraction
Saw the track list for part one, Sentry and Iron fist isnŽt there, but maybe on part two. Hopefully the acoustic version will be included on the bonus cd.
So amazing! I can't wait to get my deluxe edition and signed copy along with my NAME IN THE BOOK! I wonder why UG hasn't been posting much about these guys. Hopefully they do an album review.
Yeah thought it was a bit strange that they previewed 'Sentry..' so early and it wasn't even on the first record haha. Anyhow I was indifferent to this at first but as always with they're longer songs it's a complete grower. Everything they've done has been pure gold in my eyes, apart from the last album (which still had some bangers on it), so high hopes!
Great song, can't wait to hear the rest of the album. I'm disappointed Sentry didn't make it on to the first part as well. I'm DYING to hear the studio version. That's a great song too.
At around 3:40 where Claudio is singing with no guitar on the announcers mic. that 10 second drum beat from josh and little break down is so ridiculous. That's when I started to hear the old Coheed again. They were missing that style with Chris they def Got that groove back.
I saw them live back in May one of Josh's first shows back. Definitely appropriate for the set to open with time consumer. Sentry sounded really really heavy live. I think it's safe to say they're back.
Pumped for the new album I got my name in the book too.
FINALLY this website mention something about Coheed.
One of the best preorders I've ever seen, album artwork, tracklisting, a successful tour with Iron Maiden...and nothing memntioned on UG. Anyways.
This song is great, a real throwback to the GA:1 days- the progressive, slightly quirky streak is back in their music. And Josh has been hugely missed.
