Coldplay frontman Chris Martin apparently has a serious fan in the person of Apple CEO Steve Jobs.
Yesterday, at a music-themed conference in San Francisco, Jobs surprised attendees by bringing out Martin to perform two songs: a solo rendition of Coldplay’s "Viva La Vida," and a never-before-released track titled "Wedding Bells."
"This is a new song… I’ve been working on it – it’s called ‘Coldplay 2.6’," Martin joked.
"It has a lot of new features. It features seven different kinds of chords. Even a new one that our closest rivals have no idea about."
As reported by RollingStone.com, the performances by Martin accompanied Apple’s introduction of a new line of iPods, as well a Ping, which Jobs describes as "a social network for music" that will allow iTunes friends to share with one another their tastes in music, concerts they plan to attend and more.
"It has a lot of new features. It features seven different kinds of chords. Even a new one that our closest rivals have no idea about." Can someone explain this to me? He can't just invent a chord quality... I feel like hes selling me a computer in the description...

... it was a joke. He was performing at the introduction of new Apple products. They make computers and iPhones and iPods. And each year they release new ones, with slight improvements.

As inspiring as the sloppy Opeth covers you post on Youtube with your mom's video camera might be, I think Coldplay have more of a right to call themselves musicians then you...Anyway, this video proves how great of a player Martin is, can't wait to hear the rest of the new material
