Damon recently came under fire from former Streets frontman Mike Skinner who claimed: "Damon Albarn needs to stop" claiming that his music was "a bit mad" and that elder musicians can look ridiculous trying to keep up with the kids. "The Marvelous Dream" is anything but mad, and is one in the eye for Skinner with the tracks maturity and sobriety.
The video is accompanied by a lingering shot of John Dee House, a block of council flats named after the same mathematician on which Albarn's opera is based.
