Damon Albarn said: "I did it because there's a lot of time that you just spend staring at walls essentially. And it was a fantastic way of doing it.
"I found working in the day, whether it's in the hotel or in the venue, it was a brilliant way of keeping myself well."
Described in the post as a "15 track sonic journey," America is the main influence in an album which includes songs entitled "Hillbilly Man," "California and the Slipping of the Sun" and "Seattle Yodel."
Albarn elaborated on the writing process. He said, "I literally wrote everything on the day in each place and there's a strange sort of sound of America and its musical traditions that comes through. It feels like a journey through America."
The Fall' will be available from Gorillaz.com on Christmas Day (December 25). A physical release is due to be released in 2011.
It's a very brooding piece, very chill though. However if the rest of the album is similar to this song I'm not sure if it'll end up being that great or not.
I can't base the album off one song but if it's all instrumental idk how I'll feel about this. Leave instrumental tracks to Trent reznor. Cool song still
