Lamb Of God: 'Wrath' TuneWidget Available

A TuneWidget for Lamb Of God's forthcoming fifth album, "Wrath", can be found at this location. Due in North America by Epic on February 24, 2009, the CD will be issued in other territories through Roadrunner Records.

"Wrath" was produced by Josh Wilbur and was recorded in studios in New York, Virginia, and New Hampshire.

Lamb Of God finished the touring cycle for the Grammy-nominated album "Sacrament" at the end of 2007. The two-year trek was documented in the gold-certified DVD "Walk With Me In Hell" and culminated with the band headlining arenas across the U.S. last December.

The band took the entirety of 2008 off the road to focus on the writing process for "Wrath".

"This album is going to surprise a lot of people," commented drummer Chris Adler. "Typically bands that get to where we are in our career begin to slack off, smell the roses and regurgitate. We chose a different path. No one wants to hear another band member hyping a new record. 'Wrath' needs no hype. We have topped ourselves and on February 24 you will feel it."

The first leg of Lamb Of God's "Wrath" world tour will start in Finland on February 6 and will include dates in the U.K., Australia, and Japan.

Amazing new sound very speed metalish "contractor" sounds like another good step in Lamb Of God's future i'm hoping the album has alittle different aproach in styles though due to they have too much talent to play speed all the time! forever the 11th Hour

can someone explain to me what exactly it is about LOG that appeals to so many people, don't get me wrong I appreciate that they're talented musicians but they bore me to tears I completely tune out whenever they come on,

Am I the only one who doesn't like Contractor? It sounds really boring and a bad direction to me. I'm all for them topping themselves as always but IMO contractor fails and tries to hard to be heavy while losing its value. There's only one section I like and i'm pretty upset over the song.

Yeah I'm pretty upset with the song too, I thought it was boring, while being heavy there wasnt much of a melody like most of the songs off sacrament.

True, I really expected the guitarists to push themselves just a bit farther over sacrament/ashes's limit. The song "contractor" lacks a driving force to cause you to want to hear it again, and there is only one interesting part throughout it. I just hope the rest of the album isn't like this...

Another thing is the production quality. Sacrament and ashes seemed to have far better sound distribution of the instruments as compared to this (the bass is kinda over taking the guitar), and the overall quality isn't as... well-defined.

Guitar-wise, the riffs were kinda... typical. It kinda felt like Chimaira (on steroids). The previous albums had more genuineness involved in the riffs (such as the Blood of the Scribe chorus riff I think...)

Drum-wise, Chris Adler very rarely used continuous double bassing passages (Laid to Rest did use it, but the guitar harmony compensated along with song definition) in the songs, as he would usually go for more complex patterns (that sometimes were complex enough that a non-metalhead wouldn't be able to distinguish).

Overall, it's good, but "good" really isn't good enough for what I expected when Adler said we'ld be surprised. I'm hoping the other songs will be different. But still, Lamb of God is band which contains great and creative musicians and throws very nice performances; one of my favorites.

yeah same. the reason why i love LOG is all down to the riffage on songs like laid to rest etc and i jus cant get a fee lfor the new song at all. the mid 8 bit is good tho but all in all its jus not lamb of god.
having said that randy's vocals are still awesome
