Machine Head Covers Iron Maiden's 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' Video

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area metallers Machine Head performed a cover version of the Iron Maiden classic "Hallowed Be Thy Name" at the Rock in Rio festival on June 5, 2008 in Lisbon, Portugal. Video footage of the performance can be viewed at this location.

Machine Head recently recorded a studio version of "Hallowed Be Thy Name" for the upcoming "Maiden Heaven" tribute CD which will be given away with the UK magazine Kerrang! Also scheduled to appear on this CD is the progressive-metal band Dream Theater with its cover of the Maiden classic "To Tame a Land".

The complete track listing and details for this release are expected to be revelaed later this month.

im surprised at how much i dont like this cover. i dont like machine head but i usually like when newer bands cover classics even if i dont like the band. robs vocals sound like crap, and the drummers double bass sounds terrible. and you can hardly even understand rob's voice. guitars are too low and you cant hear the bass which is some of the best parts is hearing the bass harmonize with the guitars. im really disappointed in machine head :C

I agree COMPLETELY. I was gonna say the exactly the same thing. Machine Head are an ok band, but I'm afraid they butchered it.

The clapping at the start made it worse. You couldn' hear the vocals....the clean guitar at the start was horrible, the double bass was sloppy, there was no bass....
