The short film features a number of disturbing images and sees Manson reciting passages from Shakespeare's "Macbeth".
Speaking about the pairs collaboration, Shia LeBeouf told MTV: "Marilyn Manson to me is an indelible figure. He's a big deal to me, and in my childhood, I don't know of a scarier figure in art. He, in my teenage years, was the scariest thing in the world, so part of me has always been intrigued."
He added: "This, for me, this is a really cool diversion for me when I'm not making a movie. It gives me an opportunity to work with musicians I admire who I would otherwise never get to work with in any other capacity. I really have a fun time doing it. It allows me to be creative in another art form and work with heroes."
The video, which can be watched below, contains adult themes.
In other news, “'Born Villain' is the title of the new Marilyn Manson album,” a statement on Manson's website said.
“While looking to experiment in unlikely collaborations, I met Shia, and we spent a long night at my studio. After seeing 'Maniac', his short film, which is somewhat inspired by 'Man Bites Dog', I was astonished by his directing ability."
"So I shared quite a few of my favorite inspirations in art, literature, and obviously film. I was impressed with how Shia digested my world, and made what I’d like to think, is both an homage and a mockery of the history of cinema."
“We ended up writing a short film. The score is from my new album, and is, in the words of Macbeth, 'Full of sound and fury'.”
'Born Villain' will be Manson's eighth studio album and first since leaving Interscope Records for Cooking Vinyl.
I think the last album and eat me drink me were underrated. There was some really great tracks on them.. if u ask me.. golden age was the worst. This new song has the antichrist feel.. hope the rest of the album holds up. Video on the other had was not my taste..
