Metallica Remix With Jay-Z Really Works
A talented young producer has remixed Metallica with Jay-Z - and it sounds surprisingly good. The producer, BamBeatz, blended the entire Metallica "Black Album" with Jay-Z's "The Black Album". The full remix album will be released in spring, and you can hear the preview track "Moment Of Clarity" below. It is not the first time a bedroom producer has blended rock and rap with impressive results. In 2004, a mashup of Jay-Z's "The Black Album" album was mixed with The Beatles' self-titled white album. The result was appropriately titled "The Grey Album", and it brought producer Danger Mouse to fame. He went on to form pop duo Gnarls Barkley. More recently, punk heroes Fugazi were mixed with Wu Tang Clan to form "13 Chambers", which you can also hear below. Listen to the Metallica and Jay-Z remix preview here. What do you think?
If you enjoyed that, try the older Fugazi and Wu Tang Clan mashup here:
What do you think of the Metallica mix? Did it enlighten you to the potential joy of hip-hop, or should both genres stay independent? Share your opinion in the comments.
