Neil Young has premiered the song "Angry World" from his forthcoming brand new studio album, Le Noise, reposrts PlanetRock.com.
The song, as with the rest of the album, is a sonically experimental exercise for Young and the content seems to be largely autobiographical.
Neil Young will release Le Noise on September 27. It will be available for purchase on iTunes, CD, and vinyl, and later in November it will be available in Blu-ray and as a free iPhone and iPad app.
The album features eight new songs and was recorded in Los Angeles with producer Daniel Lanois.
Speaking to Rolling Stone recently, Lanois said: "We cut a couple of solo acoustic songs, but the rest is very electric. There's no band, but I got in there with my sonics. There's nothing else out there like it."
The tracklisting of Le Noise is:
01. Walk With Me
02. Sign of Love
03. Rescue Me
04. Love And War
05. Angry World
06. Hitchhiker
07. Peaceful Valley Blvd
08. Rumblin'
I love Neil Young and if at all possible I'm buying this album when it comes out. He is an amazing songwriter, no doubt about it, and he still got it after over 4 decades.
I love Neil... But his voice sometimes leaves something to be desired... Like, on this song I wish it was a bit stronger and more stridently sung. Still amazing, but it seems a bit rambly than it was probably intended to be.
love neil young. i like this song but i feel like it could absolutely rip with a full band behind it. i like the idea of songs using only electric guitar though. you can really hear the stereo pickups of the white falcon
I saw Neil in April of 09 and its amazing how different he sounds recorded! I'll never forget that concert the emotion that he had in his voice just flowed through the theatre.

I agree about the full band on this one. Still rocks though
Neil is the man.
I wish he had put his solo version of "Down By The River" that he did on his recent tour on the album, though. He slowed it down and turned on the fuzz during the chorus, and it sounded so epic.

Yes I agree! I saw him do it in Atlanta. AMMMMAAAAAZZZZIIIIINNNNNGGGGG!!!!! The song hitchhiker is pretty badass! Neil is the man!
i saw a video for hitchhiker on another news site and i liked that one a lot, maybe more than this. but i've listened to both a few times since yesterday and i am really stoked on this album.
Saw him in Albany a few months ago and he did a lot of stuff that's going to be on this. Very huge, ethereal sounding stuff, quite looking forward to the new album.
I wish his lyrics were as good as they used to be though. These ones are so...straight forward.
