These days, the music video format has become so commonplace that it’s sometimes hard to differentiate between the myriad of three minute promos over saturating the marketplace. No such issues if you’re Noel Gallagher though. The former Oasis songwriter turned solo artist yesterday released the final film in a trilogy of music videos that are collectively titled Ride The Tiger. The first two parts had consisted of The Death Of You And Me and AKA What A Life!, and now, according to Antiquiet, the series has been rounded out with the video for If I Had A Gun, a prelude to the former segments.
Gallagher’s conceptual video project might seem like a bit of a departure for the former Oasis member. Yet, it would seem that conceptual is the name of the game for some of the songwriter’s future endeavours. During a press conference promoting his debut solo album, the self titled Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Noel announced that he had also recorded a second album with former electronica duo Amorphous Androgynous, due for release in 2012:
"It sounds a bit like Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. The sound is similar to High Flying Birds, but more psychedelic and tripped out. It's not an electronic project. People are jumping to that conclusion because Amorphous Androgynous used to be an electronic outfit... It's f--king far out. It's got like 18 tracks on it, some of it's krautrock, some of it's soul, some of it's funk and that's just the first song."
Meanwhile, Noel has rebutted rumours that he is writing the theme for the upcoming James Bond film Skyfall on his blog after The Sun newspaper reported that he was in talks to do so:
"A 'source' says, 'Nothing has been signed or made official'!!!! Of course it f--kin' hasn't!!!!!! Who IS this f--kin' '"source"'? Has he been on the 'sauce'? Bizarre indeed."
